We Are All Made Of Stars…

Things, people, and experiences come and go.  Life is a cycle of constant change… What goes up, must come down, what is pleasurable today can turn to pain tomorrow.  Everything in our physical experience of life is temporary, transient, and impermanent.  As things come and go, in and out of our lives, it’s important to just allow life’s natural processes to move through us.  The more we open to life and become the ‘experiencer’ of it, rather than staying attached to any certain person, place, or experience, the more bliss and peace we will invite into our lives.

But even when going through transition and change, the truth of who we are remains constant.  As Moby puts it, ‘We are all made of stars!’  We are all infinite expressions of love and pure potential.  So whether you are transitioning like I am right now, or just looking for a bit of inspiration to start your day, take a few moments and watch this video I made for you below…

music“People they come together… People they fall apart…. But no one can stop us now… Cuz we are all made of stars!”  Do you know how beautiful, powerful, and infinite you are?  It’s always good to get a little reminder every now and then!

I’d love to get your feedback on this post today, so leave me a comment down below.  And if you enjoyed it, make sure you share it with your Twitter followers by ‘tweeting’ it using the re-tweet button! Thanks so much!

Hi Katie, Remind me later one of my top 5 fave books of all times is “The Tibetan Book of Living & Dying” the book really goes deeper into impermanence. I have literally taken this book everywhere with me from my travels all over states as well as International.

It speaks everything that you just mentioned in this short and powerful video.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I know Kauia will be a wonderful experience for you. I will meditate for your journey. One of things that’s permanent is your true being. You are such a beautiful being of light and it shows through the videos. Thank You Thank You Thank YOu! Have a GREAT Time! Keep us posted plllleaaaseee.

Rachel, I re-visit the book monthly. As soon as I gave birth to my son. I embraced him with pure joy and realized how impermanent Life really is. Katie, You really spoke to me today! I feel your pain over losing your beloved pet. They give such unconditional love.

Life is a constant process of change and growth. A dear friend I’ve had for over 30 years just let the friendship basically dissolve. As you so aptly stated, “pleasure today can turn to pain tomorrow.”

I’m downloading Moby’s song today … We ARE all made of Stars!
And that is the energy to focus on, right?

Thanks for sharing, Katie. Kauai is one of my favorite spots in the entire world. Check out Poipu Beach if you get a chance. Will look forward to following your travels :)

Hey Katie,

Splendid message today :)

I am going thro a similar process myself. Just as I thought everything was wonderful in my business, I realised that I need to start all over again… Which is good, although when I realised it, it felt terrible.

I have been barking up the wrong tree and today, I received a rather disconcerting message from a friend that brought me down to earth with a bump.

Message:
These values may not be able to be determined by looking at the operational metrics of your business.

When I got this, I immediately fired back with, What is it that you are uncomfortable with? A) The content, did I not teach you anything?

I am now on a new journey of self discovery and need to buy some new books. I will also take some time out and do some self discovery!

Have an enjoyable time and I look forward to hearing from the new Katie that emerges :)

Wow – great, inspiring video which reflects so well the personal journey we all go through as we move through life and experience the ups and downs of our emotional roller coaster during that journey. Your video today reminds me so much of the major events in my own personal life – dealing with loss, realising the need to find who I really am, getting up from my comfort zone and heading off overseas alone and all those other experiences which make each of us who we are today.
Thankyou for giving me such a thoughtful and reflective start to my new day.

Katie, Yes, you’re right. One of my favorite quotes is this:

God doesn’t give you the people you want, he gives you the people you need, to help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person you were meant to be.

My life, as is with most folks, has been a series of people coming and going, hurting, leaving, loving and shaping.

Great message and have a great time on your trip. I wish you well !!

Thank you very much for sharing these moments with us Katie. My wife an I lost two cats, both of them disappeared from our yard within a month or two period. As an ex-military man, I immediately went into rescue mode and began a barrage of efforts to discover where they were, and to get them back home. In the end, there was absolutely no evidence as to what happened to them, and no one called to claim the reward.

Growing up, after a death of a pet, I always had a vivid dream about them which I always took as their way of saying goodbye, and allowing me to do the same. It wasn’t but a month or two after both cats disappeared recently that I had a dream about the both of them, vivid and clear as any moment spent with them in them in the past. I took that as a sign to stop looking for them, and to just look forward to seeing them again.

I learned a long time ago that I will lose people along the way of my life, and that eventually someone would lose me from theirs. This made me self-aware, as you obviously are, about the frailty, importance, and value of our lives and the lives of the plants and animals that we share this beautiful Earth with. This harmony can sometimes be lost to us when losing a loved one, and we have to grieve and find our way back to the path in order for us to find closure and to remember the harmony of life.

Take the time in Hawaii to reflect and find your inner peace again. I have found Hawaii to be an amazing place of healing and positive energy. Heal, and then bring yourself home. Perhaps you too will have a dream?

It is so refreshing to see a genuine personality setting a transparent example of the power of positive energy. We have the opportunity to embrace the consistency of change within our lives; everything is temporary. Through change we continue to grow and strengthen ourselves as individuals and inspire others to do the same.

Hey Katie,
That was an awesome post with a great message. It is so true that the only true power we have as human beings is our infinite nature. Everything else that we acquire or achieve is on earth can come and go, but we are infinite. I think it is so cool that you are constantly striving to grow as a person, because when you grow in your awareness, that is much more permanent than any material thing you could find.

Once again great message and also that is an awesome song, keep growing and keep sharing with the world.

Thanks Katie,

I love Moby too…that is a great song and has a great message. That very song was used on the Songs for Tibet, Album of Peace Music Album as an initiative to support Tibet and in the promotion of peace and basic human rights. I guess someone else thought it was an inspirational song too! (Great minds and all that!)

Sorry to hear you are having a bad time with your emotions but at the same time, its a good thing, because we learn new experiences and gain strength to take us forward and to share with the world.

It is those who are willing to make changes in life, are the ones that are more likely to succeed. One of the hardest things for people to do is change something that they really like or have a passion for. I think change is an addiction that people need to do in order to take their life to the next level. You have to forget about your past and move on into the next journey of your life.

Hi Katie,

I’ve been through a long and traumatic process over 10+ years. Most of it has been painful BUT necessary to my own personal growth. Only now do I feel that I am really beginning to LIVE!

It felt like if anything was to go wrong for anyone, it would be me…..’butter side down’ every time. BUT when I began to recognise that there are NO negative experiences in life, I began to see that painful experiences shape our character much more effectively than experiences of joy and success.

For me, the development of character is more important than any personal achievement. The development of strong character is forged through learning patience, and endurance. Only when we have learned to be resilient and productive in adversity are we ready for greater responsibilty. Rather like an athlete competing for the Olympics, only those who have taken their bodies and minds to the limits of endurance are ready, equipped, and qulaified to compete for ‘gold’.

Looking upon personal disappointment, adversity, and failire in a positive way has been most liberating for me, and as a result I live each day with expectancy that God has a great task for me to do because of the trials and testings that I have endured.Once we have conquered ‘fear’ in our lives, then there is nothing else, nor anyone else to fear. It means that we can move from season to season in our lives with energy, enthusiasm, and an expectancy of unimagineable blessing and joy.

Once we have grasped this, then ‘recession’ holds no threat nor fear to our business or our relationships. And I say that as someone who started a new network-marketing business in June 2009. In spite of recession I am seeing my business grow each day, but most importantly I am seeing people being transformed in their self-esteem and self-confidence. If this is what it is like in the ‘green shoot’ what will it be when the harvest is gathered?!

Whatever you have been through, or are going through Katie, you can be assured that you are becoming a stronger and more dynamic person. However, one piece of advice….’guard your heart’.

Thank you for your honesty, and transparency in sharing.

Hi Katie,
I agree with your opening remarks of life being
a constant flow and constant change. And the infinite that made us from the star the sun, and solar system, was created out of system of galaxies of stars that in which is the universe in which we live. Is also a constant rate of change:

Mutability

We are the clouds that veil the midnight moon;
How restlessly they speed, and gleam, and quiver,
Streaking the darkness radiantly!–yet soon
Night closes round, and they are lost forever:

Or like forgotten lyres, whose dissonant strings
Give various response to each varying blast,
To whose frail frame no second motion brings
One mood or modulation like the last.

We rest.–A dream has power to poison sleep;
We rise.–One wandering thought pollutes the day;
We feel, conceive or reason, laugh or weep;
Embrace fond foe, or cast our cares away:

It is the same!–For, be it joy or sorrow,
The path of its departure still is free:
Man’s yesterday may ne’er be like his morrow;
Nought may endure but Mutability.

Hi Katie,

I appreciate the authenticity and transparency of your video post. You’re right, we are NOT alone on this journey and it’s OK to share some vulnerabilities along the way. That’s what makes us all the more REAL as individuals when we can share.

Contemplating our finiteness is both frightening and liberating so it’s interesting to just observe and remain as non-attached as possible.

“We are all made of stars” sounds like it would make a wonderful meditation that can take you (us) to all sorts of interesting little places.

Very thoughtful blog Katie. I am much older than you and certainly have seen my share of ups and downs. We don’t ask for everything in life that we’re handed but we must deal with all of it, no matter whether we ask for it or not. What matters is HOW we deal with it. Every day we all make choices, sometimes many of them, but always one…. to be happy or to not be happy. People,and thoughts, that make you unhappy are not worth your time, so allow your mind to take you to a happy place or time. That’s not always easy but, with practice, it becomes easier.

He gave more money to American Public Education than anyone ever– a half a billion dollars ($500 million). In today’s dollars it would be about 5 billion dollars. His son died while attending Harvard college. He commited suicide because he was depressed.

Beautiful message, Katie!
I’m an Intuitive Healing Visionary and notice myself and many clients going through similar things right now, emotionally, physically and energetically. There is an influx of energy happening right now that so many people are experiencing. Quite beautiful. And like you said, reflects our state as evolving, dynamic beings with an infiniteness. The ego is becoming more translucent and merging with soul.

Some go through it with a lot of resistance. Your message is a beautiful example of experiencing whatever you experience with openness and welcome arms. This is always the way and I love how you share it so transparently.

Hey Katie!

First of all for sharing this with us. It seems that you are really hurt. You obviously say that you are going through a tough moment, but the sadness can be literally seen there. So I am sorry that you are suffering right now.

But I just wanted to say a little something, I know if the 39 people before me did because boy are there some long comments over there, which is good because they are supporting you as well. But anyway, what I wanted to say is, and you probably know this, that not only is everything just a temporary thing as you mention but it is there temporarily for a reason. Every single thing that goes into and out of your life, does so in the precise time (either going in or out) for a precise reason.

So everything that is happening to you, just get the positives out of it. You had a lot of experiences with whatever it is you lost, apart from your cat. Because I believe there is more to it than your cat…go figure not sure why. But yeah, just look at it from a positive note and in the future you will realize and say “wow…am I glad I went through all of that.”

I really love this spiritual growth kind of stuff, so if you ever want to talk about that…I am here :) .

Much love and light,
Jose

Our main problem is that we get attached to everything and make it ours even though it is not. Like with our own babies. We forgot that our kids are independent from us, they are a different person and they have their own life.

yes the experiences are here to help us to learn, but we can’t be attached to them because they will be gone and all we be remaining will be the lesson learned.

Secondly, thanks for your beautiful and inspirational video. It was “deep”. It was a great idea to take time out from your everyday life and happenings by taking off to the perfect location – Hawaii.

If at all possible, we all need to take off, occasionally, to some place where we can shut out the “noise” of people, places and things with which we are familiar. That way, we can focus on ourselves and look at our lives in perspective and make necessary changes within ourselves. Some may think we can do that at home but I don’t believe that.

Enjoy your alone time and come back fully empowered. In the meantime, I look forward to your updates. Aloha…
