There are LOTS of great quotes – and this one is my favorite right now. I’m thinking it will resonate with some of you boomers! :-)

“Age is one of the things I like most about you”.

Steve Martin says it to Meryl Streep in It’s Complicated, when she was worried about being ‘an older women’. It was just a beautiful perspective I thought I’d share.

When faced with challenges i am often guided by the following quotation whose author i could not remember (but this is also the title of is book}:

An unknown chinese author believes that growth and prosperity is faster if everyone is given the freedom to think and that (contrary to the popular belief) differing opinion is healthy in an organization:

An an unknown writer says:

“Life puts some of the more valuable things on the high shelf so that you can’t get to them until you qualify. If you want the things on the high shelf, you must stand on the books you read. With every book you read, you get to stand a little higher” – Jim Rohn

I love Jim Rohn’s wisdom and midwestern delivery. I miss him.

To add to his book wisdom analogy: “The person that don’t read is not better off than the person that can’t read.” – anon.

I also like Yogi Berra’s unpolished quotes. Since I will turn 75 on June 5th. I especially like this one: “It ain’t over ’till it’s over.” and “You can see a lot by observing.”

A couple of my favorites by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm” RWE

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered by your old nonsense.” RWE

My all time favorite would have to be

“Here’s to the Crazy Ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo.You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore
them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see themas the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world – are the ones who DO!”
