Hey Katie, haven’t spoken to you in a while.I would like to make a suggestion in your video presentations. You are an excellent speaker, exude confidence and have valuable content. However, I noticed that you use the word “you” and “yourself” probably over 100 times. This gives the impression that you are talking at people and will get the interest of some but lose the interest of many people that I’m sure you want to keep focused on your content. I’m just want to suggest using “stories” more and definately some of your own personal experiences. Stories actual get people to interact with their imagination so they become involved with you rather than simply hearing you. I hope you take this positively instead of a criticism. try it!
Thank you Paul! I appreciate your sincere feedback
Hey Katie,
Very nice talk. Thanks you!
You are correct it is never too late to discover ourselves or re-discover ourselves and our passions.
The Internet and social media, along with digital convergence does allow us to connect in more meaningful ways and also provides opportunity for some, many or perhaps all of us to express ourselves and our new found passions in ways that encourage EVOLUTION and GROWTH!
All the best!

Morning Katie, thank you for those inspirational words. I too agree that it is a hugely important topic and one that I often ponder on. I also think meditation plays a very big part in finding your lifes purpose because when I am focused and using daily meditation often I get clairty into certain situations, that before seemed clouded. Journaling also can be very inspirational ! Have a beautiful day !! xoxo

Very well spoken. I wish you the best with all your endeavours. That’s awesome that you understand that your passions do evolve and not to get attach to them. Things can change very quickly and we must be able to stay detached while we enjoy the present moment. Some of the stuff you said reminded me of an audiobook by Wayne Dyer I was listening to. I think it was the “Tao of I Ching”. Don’t quote me on that though. I have tried to explain this stuff to my friends, but you are able to explain it much better than I can, and you do it with such great energy. Anyway, good luck. I wish you the best.

Hi Katie, I really enjoyed this video because I’m in the process of finding my life’s purpose and my contribution to the world. There is something I’ve realized in the past year and a half and it is I really love traveling. I couldn’t do it for years, but recently (last 3 years) I’ve been able to do so and I’ve visited amazing places in Europe (I’m from Mexico). I’m 30 years old now and I’ve made the decision of living 2 months in Italy and learn some Italian. The main purpose is to live in an European city, and Florence (my choice) is a perfect place for me to start. I’m leaving Mexico in two weeks from now to live this adventure and It’s way out of my comfort zone, but I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from this experience and it will help me shape my life’s purpose and to find out what’s that inside me willing to come out to share with others.
Thank you fur such an inspiring video and I’ll keep an eye on your blog while I’m in Italy.
Sincerely
Miguel
Finding your “personal purpose” can be a long arduous process. From my life experience I would agree that it is something that evlolves over time. I would agree with you Katie that finding something that you are passionate about is a great start. But don’t be surprised if you look back months from now and find your orginal purpose has evlovled into something very different than your original intension. We have all heard the phrase life is not a destination, it’s a journey. Enjoy the ride of life in finding your purpose.

Hi Katie,
Honestly, I’m still on the path of discovery in terms of my life’s purpose…but, as you said, it’s an evolution. What I HAVE found already, is the truth in your statement, “stop looking to external sources to determine your purpose or for validation of your self-worth.”
I’ve recently made some big changes and have realized the importance of living my life FOR ME. I used to be worried that making a shift like this would be self-centered and selfish. But what I’ve found is that it has allowed me to be more confident in myself and more authentic as a person…and this subtle change has had a huge positive impact on my life these past few months. Thanks for the video…

Each of us does have a unique gift that enables us to express creativity and knowledge. This power seems to be bigger than something self-created and unless shared in some way becomes locked up inside our individuality. What a great world we live in that we can, through the power of technology, harness our knowledge and thoughts and release them to EVERYONE- EVERYWHERE! Learning never stops and I share your passion for the empowerment of blogging and connecting with others online via video, text or pictures. If each individual life does have a purpose it seems to show itself only with interaction.
Thanks for sharing once again!

Hey Katie,
Thanks for more inspiration. So I know what my passions are for sure. Filmmaking, Music, Traveling, Cooking, and eating Chocolate. But, does this mean that these are my purposes? I guess I can say that there is no better feeling for me than completing the martini shot on a film(the final shot of the film), or sitting on a porch with a mate, jammin a guitar riff or 2, or traveling to a country and experiencing another culture. So maybe my purpose is to share these passions with other people, because I know I don’t get the same feeling or experience the same growth when I do them solo.
You truly inspire me,
Zac Settles
Hi Katie,
thank you for sharing another helpful and encouraging lesson on discovering purpose. In particular, it helped me when you used the example of our currency being something we are good at to give back with – rather than money. That put it in perspective for me and made it clear to me what I know I can do and what I want to do!:)
Dear Katie,
You have a powerful lesson here! I enjoyed every word of it.
Identifying your life’s purpose is akin to a farmer who plants
a seed and grow it. He has to fertilize it and water it on a
regular basis. When it’s time to reap his harvest, that simply
put, is success.
My story doesn’t end there yet in that I’m still striving to
get to the next level. When I have given what people want, I
will get what I want. People don’t care what I know, until
they know that I care!
You’re such an inspiration, Katie.
Yours in success,
Art

Hi Katie
Thankyou for a great video, and I am Very Passionate about transformation, finding Your True Self ect…..
I would like to share some experiences that I have had in regarding to finding Truth Within Us.
Most people are looking towards the Outside World, and so,They Forget Themselves. The key is to Look Inward. Then you will Remember.
Feeling your emotions is another key. Most people won’t.So they Push The Feelings away. You see, pushing all that Pain away is called the Hard Pain because it actually is More Painfull to push it away than it is to Feel.Once we feel the pain,it becomes the Soft Pain.We Let Go.Let me tell you…..once I began to Surrender to Feeling….my whole body lit up.It was like it had been dead for years.
The Human Heart has great Wisdom.Just place your hand on the Centre of your Sternum, and focus there…..for a while…go deep into the centre there, and see what happens.
I am soo passionate about all of this. Its soo beautifull to see somebody Empowered Within.
David
“I live life depending on whats effect me, and because i’m able help more people as alive.” Simple and true.
What i would like to do is to make people how it is to truly understand something- fear as an example, everything people push away from themselves is loss of understanding by not being able to accept themselves- like with creativity one is most creative when in love or most depressed.
Once you see- it all become so clear thats its actually abit depressing, if the core within self is known and one has the ability to stabilize it and take from it- isn’t it immortality then i do not know what is.
Im sorry if it isn’t understandable for all who reads this but i hope im getting through to atleast one whos able to relate.
It amazing how many people spend a whole lifetime searching for who they are, and what thier purpose is. When 9 times out of 10 it is right in front of their face. Great Message Katie…
Xlnt Video Katie, couldn’t have come at a better time. I am in a definite transition period in my life and struggling with the fact that what I ‘want’ to do, what I’m truly passionate about conflicts with what I feel I ‘need’ to do to survive.
I truly wish that money wasn’t an issue but unfortunately it is. That’s where my problem lies. Throughout my life I haven’t been able to find a way of making money doing what I enjoy and therefore have spent my entire life only doing what it takes to survive. Which of course has left me unfulfilled.
Now I’m at a point where I have pretty much lost everything [Real Estate market tanked] and forced to start over and at my age, that’s not a great place to be. However, I am choosing to look at my situation from a different perspective. Perhaps all of this happened to allow me to begin again, doing something I enjoy, something I’m passionate about. Who knows, maybe I can figure out a way of making money at it.
So again, thank you for this video. It really hit the spot.
The question can often be asked and yet rarely answered because as people, we tend to avoid digging deep. As I continue through the process of digging, I find more encouragement knowing that it is a process.
So often, when we hear of success stories, it is the end result that we tend to focus on. When people initially become aware, the tendency is to rush the process.
We live in a time in which instant gratification is often expected. Your analogy with money was a unique approach to getting people to think a bit outside of their comfort zone.
As for me, my purpose is to serve others. The more I give in posting comments, I realize that all that I have learned in my life experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly, can serve to guide, inspire and motivate others.
For a majority of my life, I have felt like I wanted to share so much more of me. However, there wasn’t a medium in which I could do that. With the popularization of social media and social networking, it is becoming more abundantly clear that I now have a platform in which I can express what it is that I am passionate about.
Being an excellent husband to my wife, an enterprising stay home dad, the best friend that I can be to those I meet on and off line. Ultimately, though, my life’s light is to shine so others can see the working of God without me having to be offensively religious, but to be a true inspiration with the life that I live.
Thanks for providing this community for those who have something to give.
I lost my purpose and feel terrible now. I am not sure at all how I can find it and what I should do about it. Any ideas?
Thank you:)
Hello Katie,
Welcome back!
Powerful video. I believe that there is no stop or time limit to discovering ourselves. The more we understand us, more we can understand others.

Kaite,
You spoke about a “Target Purpose”. You asked, “What would you like to see on our planet 20 years from now, in detail?” I, personally, would like to see a Resource Based Economy vs. the Monetary Based System we have now. Have you seen the documentary “Zeitgeist:Addendum” yet? It will blow your mind. Check it out:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7065205277695921912#
You also asked, “How can you be a part of that movement?” Well, The Zeitgeist Movement Orientation discusses this in detail:

Tell me what you think Katie. I would love to get your feedback on the Zeitgeist Movement.

Hey Katie,
Could not help but notice the change in you perhaps as a result of some time out and associating with people you love and people with whom you are on the same page. There is a life in your eyes and your words that is new and fresh, even your smile is brighter.
Yes purpose is the driving force of life and as you mentioned it is a changing phenomena that we need to not only acknowledge but allow ourselves to flow with. You said it well and I took heed to that thank you. I would like to see you standing just for a change in your next video, please consider that as a challenge to you. Lastly thank you for bringing to the fore what each of us has to define clearly and definitively and of course then solidify with an action plan. As always I appreciate having found you to share my story and journey with. Take care beautiful girl and thanks again.
Helping others sums it up for me. Happiness is a gift we give ourselves, serenity (or peace) is free. Joy a gift we receive when we help others.
Great post. I think you have found your passion.

Hi Katie,
My purpose in life is something that I’ve been praying about for some time now. Turning 50 and all the kids out of the house as changed my life in a big way. Thus, I’m left thinking what now? I think it’s called the empty nest syndrome, something I thought I would never go through…LOL. It will come to me and I will find my purpose once again as long as I keep seeking!

Sometimes we are fool and sometimes we are smart.
Sometimes we get hurts and sometimes we even hurt somebody.
So, as long as we forgive ourselves and others, life is going to be OK. Remember we are not perfect and we shouldn’t expect life to be perfect too.
Hi Katie,
‘Passion’, ‘Purpose’, and ‘Destiny’ are among my favourite words. My own business tag-line is “Discovering Potential, Developing People” because that sums up my own life-purpose.
One of the tools that I find most useful in helping people discover who they are, is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).
I would strongly encourage anyone embarking on self-discovery to find a Myers-Briggs coach who will help to get the best out of this very helpful self-assessment tool.
As well as helping to identify our unique personal qualities the MBTI is also used in career coaching to identify the kind of jobs/careers that fit best with our personality. In my own case I have used MBTI to explore new career ideas and have found it to be consistently accurate, and the choices I have made have been very satisfying.
There is another factor to consider when looking for a sense of direction in our lives. If we focus on discovering how we can serve others rather than on benefit to ourselves, then we will not only get satisfaction from serving others, but people will WANT what we have to offer. On this theme of serving others’ I have been particularly inspired by Earl Nightingale’s
CD set entitled “Lead The Field”. (I should make it clear that I have no financial interest in the recommendations that I make, and I only offer these suggestions because
I know from experience that keeping ourselves motivated is essential if we are to achieve our life-goals. Over 90% of people fail to achieve their life-goals either because they don’t set goals, or they lack motivation. A life-coach really does help to identify and achieve our purpose in life.
I hope that these few comments will help those who read them to achieve their full potential.
Hey Katie

Katie,
I found that your video was very inspirational. I guess that your retreat with your friends was a great success. It reminded me when I was taking some classes in college. Everyone sits in a circle and chats about different topics. It did inspire me to focus on my purpose and what I want to bring to the table. I like that you used the word You. It makes it feel that you are talking to me. I was able to explore what unique qualities or skills would be used for my business and my business would be my vehicle to help others around me. Passion does attract others to your business if they can feel that connection to the message I have to say to them.
Again, thanks for the video
Michele

It’s never too late to look at our purpose(s) and passion(s). We are always on the PATH, it’s just a matter of PAYING ATTENTION and listening to our mind/heart and body.
TRUST your path will evolve and change. Don’t cling to how you think it should work out, as that’s not how it works. Discover what you want to walk toward and then implement the tools to get there.

Hi Katie,
I really enjoyed your post about finding life’s purpose. I totally agree that we need to to have a target, but be willing and flexible to expand upon that target and vision as it unfolds. Our vision holds our course steady, and enables us to see when that course is turning in a new direction.
