I like to kick fear in the face. I just hope its not a Person on the other side of that fear. Yikes!

I remember when I first started doing videos. I wasn't afraid to do it until I was about to make my first video. I got nervous and wasn't sure why. A little bizarre but I pushed through.

Great post Katie and good for you. Fear robs us all of so much because we let it. And only 'you' know when the fear arises and when you have to deal with it.

I have fear in alot of areas of my business life that I have to overcome - I just know it. It's amazing when I tackle something, when it all gets a bit difficult, instead of continuing I find myself moving onto something else.

The good thing is, is that I am realising this, and pushing forward with the fear, and just saying bugger it, I just have to do it.

What I say to myself also, is that if things get too hard, I remind myself that this is the time when I will grow inside the most if I just tackle whats in front of me 'now'.

Thanks so much for your post. That is a hell of a fear story but like you said, having experienced it, you helped overcome it.

Thank you for your leadership Katie - you are an old mind on young shoulders - and I say that in a good way. Truly inspiring!

Regards,
Sharon

Hi Katie! Thank you soooo much for sharing this story! I am so happy you were able to face your fear and overcome it. You always have such a beautiful and amazing way of giving us the picture and vision through your posts. I truly enjoyed this post and your story. Congrats on overcoming it!

Public Speaking was a huge fear I had to overcome very quickly over a year ago also. My audience was a bit smaller but I did have to speak. There was about 80 people I was speaking for... I was one of the 50 chosen through my Home Business for a special two day training called "Leaders of Tomorrow". They choose those who they feel are the next Leaders in the company and give us "Red Carpet Treatment"...so I felt very honored to even be going. Then they asked me to do a presentation on Personal Development. Okay, that part was easy for me to talk about as it is my passion but man, oh man was I scared to actually talk about it in front of tons of people!!!

I went through the same feelings you did (except the fainting, but I was pretty close). I was able to get the words out and everyone thought I had spoke before. So that was definitely relieving. So I just faced it, I knew I had to... it was a HUGE GOAL of mine to overcome that. To this day I still get very nervous each time I need to go on stage or even say one word publicly but overcoming it the first time has made easier and easier each time I do it!!!

I recently overcame another fear (that I was truly frightened of) and that was Video Marketing. I have NEVER enjoyed being on video, let alone letting the whole world see. But I KNEW it had to be done to achieve the life, future and success I am looking for. I just overcame it a couple days ago, thanks to your training and Leadership!

So thank you so very much for this post... sometimes I wonder how amazing the Laws of Attraction are as every time I am on your blog, I read something I need at the time!

So cool you have overcome the biggest fear in your life... and again thanks for sharing your story! Truly inspiring!

wow i love seeing how you can be so honest about everything. fear is something that is mostly ignored and hidden, because of the indication of not doing something.

my biggest fears are:

-trying new things like (travelling, an interview in english)
-speaking to girls i dont know
-speaking for unkown people
-telling someone exactly what im thinking about them

i feel much better now. thats a relief! haha

all the best katie

best regards

Being an entrepreneur is one of the most potent paths for personal development, isn't it? Amazing how taking this path tends to bring us to our knees at the altar of our greatest insecurities...

Hi Katie, I just wanted to talk about an experience I had when I gave my heart to the Lord and I was asked (without warning I must add) to share my Baptismal experience. My mouth dropped, my head went a spinnin round and round and as I stood up my knees felt like jelly, and all I could think of is the sooner I do this the sooner I can sit down. What usually takes about 5 minutes minimum took me 10 seconds and I sat down before I fell down. Everyone stood up and gave me standing ovation and I felt so shameful. I understand that fear everyone has been through but since then I have improved over the years and don't find that a problem at all. I just wanna move on now and I look forward to all the support I am receiving.

Thanks again Katie,
Ann

Hi Katie
Fear is a very personal thing. I do a job that sometimes puts me in potentialy life threatening situations and I have to react at lightning speed, and accuratly, to avoid the danger, both to myself and others with me. I am also responsible for not damaging, someone else's £200,000 car. I do, however, love my job and never feel nervious, at all. I am happy and even enjoy taking risks with the cars, and pushing the drivers too, and beyond their perceived personal limits. I regularly see people start the day trembling with nerves, to the point where the simplest of instructions can not be acted upon, and yet, at the end of the day these same people are laughing and confident about their new found skills and abilities.I see it all the time, so know it works.
But if you were to ask me to sing in public or perform in any way I would be paralised and would do anything to get out of it! Yet what is the worst that could happen? I could, and would, make a fool of myself in public i suppose, but Its not exactly life threatening is it?
Another thing that always interests me is, where is the line between the rush of an adrenaline fuel'd buzz and that crushing fear that can overwhelm us. Fear is present in a lot of situations, and I kind of thing that the buzz is a reward for overcomming the initial fear. So, after rambling on for a while, I have come to the conclusion that, for me, to overcome my fears I need to focus on the adrenaline buzz after the event, and as adrenaline is a very adictive substance, it should become fun to challenge myself over and over again.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank YOU for sharing it here with us. I too, deal with fear of public speaking and have so many of the symptoms you've described. I was so happy to read about your success!

Wow Katie...awesome story. I have a fear of creating videos! I am really comfortable speaking in public because I teach yoga and have been doing that for several years. Also, in my early years of network marketing, I did a lot of formal business presentations in front of large audiences. But the thought of creating a video scares me to death! I tried it a few times and wasn't happy with any of them, so I stopped. Now I think I must do it again. :)

Thanks so much,
