Have You Fallen In LOVE With Yourself Yet?

Well… Have you?  I think for most of us, learning to love and accept ourselves unconditionally is a process…  But if we really want to experience true love in it’s purest and ultimate form, we have to love ourselves!  There’s no getting around it!

It’s unfortunate, but so many of us are conditioned to believe that we need “proof” from other people in order to feel worthy or feel love… We fail to recognize the infinite and unconditional source of love that is within us already!  When we come to realize that we are LOVE ITSELF, we stop seeking it and craving it elsewhere… And it’s only then will we even be capable of truly loving another…

I made an important video about this and even though it’s a tad bit long, try and watch the whole thing.  I have a great visualization and analogy to share with you…

Click Play:

So… let’s affirm the love we have for ourselves by proclaiming it here…

I LOVE ME!!

(I’ve had this song in my head the entire time while writing this post… “People all over the world, join hands!  Start a love train… A love train!” )

I’m starting a LOVE TRAIN and I want to know who’s on board with me?   ;-)

If you’re willing to step on board and truly commit to falling in love with yourself, leave a message below and affirm it!  Let’s bring together a community of people who are really ready to step into their highest potential and experience the most amazingly beautiful unconditional love they’ve ever felt in their lives!  Share this message with as many people as possible today… And let’s make this love train just RADIATE!

And don’t forget to tweet it, Digg it, and share it!

Katie,
Wow, I am impressed that you not only understand, but have the self confidence to share what unconditional love and the necessity to love thy self before one can true give themself to another unconditionally.
I would love to meet you Katie, just so I can say I did. Just maybe we could be friends, for I know you make a great friend, I just can tell. When life becomes really difficult who is the one we stop loving? Well for me, I stop or better said diminish loving myself when I need it the most. Sexual intimacy without love is empty and a subconscious plea for the individual to find love in themself. Once found, the lure of loveless relationships are no longer an addiction or temptation. Loving unconditionally and not just giving, but receiving is so wonderful most never will look further. I know the wonder, but even unconditional love can grow weak, and be lost. I am finding my love again, and everyday is better than the previous. I know without a doubt I will be blessed with not just my own self love, even better to give unconditionally which will eventually be recipricated, AGREE Katie?
LOVE me then you
Alex

Katie,

How wonderful and true! I am always amazed by your articles. Self-love is self-awareness, a life-long process… if you choose to do it. It is good to remember however, you don’t really need to love yourself perfectly to love another. Being in love, and working on it together, with another, can lead to a greater understanding of self and the love within us all. We are all capable of fully loving another… now; we don’t have to wait until we fully realize the love in ourselves. There is a Divine plan to needing someone, and it is not wrong to have that need.

Katie –

I remember when I first met JB and I was telling him my story and how I wanted my life to look, he looked me deeply in the eyes and asked me, “How much does Johnny love Johnny?”

I really had to think about that. Sometimes good friends have to come along and remind us of the important things in life.

Great vid.

The Excellence of Love

1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Amen.

Hello Katie, that was great I really needed to hear that right now I am so hard on myself I expect a lot from myself I am a perfectionist and that drives me and enables me to succeed and achieve amazing things but the flip side to that is that I find it hard to accept myself unless I am achieving a lot each day! That makes it hard to switch off and relax sometimes because you feel like you shouldn’t but self awareness is my saving grace I know I need to relax so I force myself to sometimes! I know when enough is enough and I go to the beach and breathe in the fresh air ;) Or I might skip or run for a hour or so I find that working out running or swimming or doing anything that gets you out of breath puts back what you take out, that for me that is self love I LOVE ME

Thank you Katie

As an author, life coach and recovering gambling addict the biggest message I convey is that we need to accept ourselves and show ourselves the greatest love we have to give. We need to become our own biggest fans!

I am a magnificent human being and I know that my light will help others shine as well. Yes! Thanks for spreading the word…

Love the idea of your love train. I am definitely hopping on. This has been a hard journey at times for me, to love me. But definitely worth it. I can say I LOVE ME now. And by being able to say that in love, has also allowed me to appreciate others and love others deeper. Heres to giving the love train a big TOOT TOOT whistle blow.

Katie,
Thanks for sharing this message. I think it may be one of those really important ones that each of us need to constantly be remiding ourselves of.
I wanted to ask you a question. According to your metaphore of the roses and seeds, how then would one nurture his/her own seeds? What would nurturing them look like?
Thanks again and I look forward to your reply.

Katie Freiling July 17, 2009 at 3:25 pm

Hey Ronit… That’s a great question and I appreciate you asking it! Well, in order to really ‘know’ the infinite love that already exists in our hearts, and to nurture that seed of it’s realized potential, all we really need to do is put our attention there. Energy flows where attention goes. We also need to realize that ‘seeking’ love outside of ourselves is never going to really give us what we’re truly looking for. We can get satisfaction from and cherish the love that comes from others, but if we don’t know that the SOURCE of love is within, we’ll never really feel complete. So to nurture the seed, start to feel the love from deep inside you, starting from inside the heart, and let it illuminate your entire body. From there, you can imagine the love radiantly shining FROM your heart and outward to touch everyone else. Just put your attention on FEELING how much love is already inside you… And eventually you’ll realize that everything you’ve ever truly wanted was inside you already. One of my favorite quotes is from Meister Eckhart, a spiritual teacher who lived hundreds of years ago… He says you’ll come to find that ‘I am what I wanted and I want what I am’. Simple, yet deeply profound.

I hope this helps Ronit! And if anyone else has any ideas, please share them here! Thank you :)
