Sometimes it’s the things we already know, that we kind of tuck away & sometimes forget. Good reminder in your message today. Thanks Katie!

1. I think maybe more fundamental is people not knowing what they really want. And on the flip side wanting too many things at the same time.

2. Wants are fleeting, and actually following through to its creating requires time, energy and focus.

3. It is best to want and focused primarily one big thing at a time.

Along the way I totally agree about the internalization (finding it in ourselves first) and giving it away.

hi Katie,

This is a powerful message, one that so many people in our modern world need to hear, as I think our cultural conditioning is largely the exact opposite of what you are offering here.

It is such a radical concept to think of marketing in the context of being unconditionally generous rather than trying to ‘get’ something from people. Good stuff…

Kevin Doherty

Sweetdreamer October 20, 2009 at 3:53 pm

This is exactly what we do that is primarily based on our great Islamic principles, which ask muslims to give (unconditionally) and a muslim is not a faithful muslim untill he/she loves for others even more than he/she would for himself…Within this wonderful religion of Islam, lie secrets and jewels that can be used in our modern lives and culture to solve many of our modern world’s crises and problems…
Thank you katie for such a valuable blog

Great stuff Katie… Another way of looking at it is that our life, our being, is like a mirror. What you see coming back to you, your life experience, the way people react to you etc. is only a reflection of who you currently are. The great news is that we have an ability to change that person through personal develpement.

That was So Simple Yet SO Profound. So often we get so caught in the day to day and having expectations of others that we forget what really matters…. Taking the time to grow within and once we grow to sow those seeds in others.

Great Booster… Thanks Katie.

Carina October 20, 2009 at 11:05 am

Hi Katie;

This video was amazing.

You know what, I must confess that even though I knew all this, I think in some level everybody knows it, I realized that I started my online business in a state of need. I didn’t say it, I didn’t believe it, I didn’t know it, but I was always on state of emergency and not fulfillment. In the past months I have had a shift in my priorities and my “whys”, my real purpose. Finally I get the why, the why I am doing all this and the recipe to get what I want. Give without want is actually to be in abundance mindset and that is the key of success.
Thank you,

Great video Katie!!

So True, whenever we TRUST within the infinite intelligence the Universe offers without having expectations it works wonders.

You have to give before you can receive and that energy will always come back to you….

It just may not come back from the same person…;)

What’s up Katie?
That is a great message you are sharing, it is so simple, yet so few people truly understand this. You offer so much value and inspiration to people, it is no surprise that you are successful.

Keep up the good work

Kellie Stewart October 20, 2009 at 11:22 am

Wow, Carina, I could not have said it better myself! I know exactly where you are coming from. I too began my home business journey from a place of need and was definitely suffering internally as a result.

Katie, you have definitely helped me shift my mindset from need to want and from get to give. In this video, you relay a simple message but one that needs to be listened to over and over again because it is a truth that can easily be placed on the back burner if we let it.

Katie, thank you for this wonderful video. You’re right, the answer is never out there, it’s always within. I had a similar epiphany this morning. I realized while I was putting together a proposal for someone on getting his house painted that all I really want to do is do meaningful work that helps other people. I want to work hard to help people because when I’m doing that, I feel amazing. All my outwardly goals about having lots of money, being successful in the eyes of others, becoming well known, well those just seem like fringe benefits to actually doing the work to help others.

Excellent message Katie. You are on fire girl!
Thanks for sharing with us. As I was listening to your video I could not stop hearing the Red Hot Chili Peppers Song Give it away now going on over and over in my head. It is so true that what we truly want in our lives we already have inside us and the capability to create it. Main point for me to remember on a daily basis, How can I give more of what I want in my life?
Thanks again.

Wow, what a wonderful and beautiful message :)I truly need to make this shift inward, Again!

I have been a source of love for years now but somehow find it difficult to give it away.

This stuff takes time I guess. To me, all that really matters is that I give unconditional love to myself first and then share it with everybody.

Like a boomerang, everything you throw out comes right back to you. But the intention must be pure. Put something out there or give something away because THAT is what makes you feel good, not because you’ll get something back eventually.

Hi Katie,
Need I say more! As always amazing video and content. I can see the love & your generosity through your eyes.
This subject reminds me of a short video of Dr Wayne Dyer that I watched on YouTube few months ago. I cannot remember the name but what he said was when you squeeze an orange you only get orange juice nothing else. So if you have more within you, then only you can squeeze that out of you. Whether it is hate, love, success.. etc.

Thanks again for this wonderful video.

Hi Katie,

No doubt that which we seek externally will never truly lead to fulfillment. Fulfillment does genuinely come from within. Selflessly serving others without expectation is really the highest form of giving (and the best way of getting what we need as well). A lot of Bhakti (love and devotion) combined with a little Karma (action) is a fine “recipe” indeed.

Darren Fidler October 20, 2009 at 11:36 pm

Hi Katie,
Awesome video! This advice is so important for everyone to hear and apply to their life, not just in business, but in everything we do in life. I’ve read many books, lisened to many audios about the ability to manifest what we really want in life,…and honestly it’s taken me some time to really start undertstanding how I need to think to manifest what I desire most in life. I convinced myself in the past that it was hard to change my thoughts, while in reality, those thoughts kept me getting what I didn’t want. I’ve always been a person who really enjoyed giving to others, and I also believe that we need to cultivate love within, before we can give it away. I’ve recently experienced this in my life, and now that I’m cultivating love within, focusing on the love I want to give, and thinking of what I want with regards to being more loving and feeling more loved, things have dramatically changed in a short period of time. Anyway I’m enjoying what you share, & looking forward to more. Take care, God Bless.

Thank you for reminding of this great power.
I try to apply it every day and it really works.
Yesterday was a great prove of this power.
Igot lot of love back from people how I thought didn’t like me.
But I have tried to just be good and loving for them. I’m very greatful for this.

Zack G. Covell October 21, 2009 at 1:48 am

Investor…in yourself!

I’d love to have more healthy food in my life…oops…that means I need to eat better first to find that source of joy from within. My facebook friend shared the following today which Katie immediately made me think of.

Opportunity follows struggle. It follows effort. It follows hard work. It doesn’t come before. ~ Shelby Steele

Thank you once again Katie…may I ask>>>what do you do specifically to develop yourself? Do you listen to audiobooks, talk on the phone to leaders, do yoga (I know you do this), run on the beach, use a big ‘ole whiteboard to sketch out your ideas, SO what’s your secret to discovering what we really want in our lives?

Katie Freiling October 21, 2009 at 8:39 am

Hi Zack, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! :) I do quite a bit of yoga, meditation, reading, emotional reflection, and would love to start incorporating more dance into my life! To really discover the truth of what you want, it’s pretty simple… Sit in silence and just observe the mind. It’s pretty funny because all of the times in my life when I’ve THOUGHT I wanted something to fulfill a part of me, after I’d get it, it would never really ‘do the trick’. There was always more… So the conclusion I’ve come to is that the thing we all really want cannot be found outside of ourselves :)

Hey Katie,
I was in my 30’s before I realized that the vast majority of people only do things for you because they expect you to do something in return for them.

That’s OK in a business relationship. Nothing is free,
regardless of what many marketers advertise.

Whatever I do, I do it because I think it’s what I
should do at any given time. Do I get anything for
I get the feeling that I’m living my life the way I
want to, just because that’s what I think is the
right way for me to live.

For me, creating success with my online business is
like climbing a mountain.
I’ll do it just to prove I can.
After all the money and the things I can buy,
the real reason I’m doing it is for the sense of

Just to prove I can do it.
I don’t care if anyone else even notices.

Gil Pizano October 22, 2009 at 7:48 pm

Wow Katie! The more you give away without any attachments, the more you get (you can’t give enough away is the great irony). The joy in giving is a gift in itself. It is interesting how whatever you are always thinking about is what you have a tendency of getting in your life. That’s why (in my humble opinion) people who are always negative, have a tendency to get very negative things in their life. At the same time, it’s funny how people who are always expecting to enjoy life have a tendency to have “good luck” happen in their life. Life is just too short to not enjoy it.

I always tell the people I speak with that a great option in life is the ability to choose how you are going to react to the things that occur. You can’t always control the things that happen to you in life, but you can always control the way you react to it.

More people need to know that we all have the ability to make it a choice to enjoy life. At the same time, we can always help others know that they (to some level regardless of their circumstances) have a choice to enjoy life or not. Enjoying life is always more fun. Make it a choice to enjoy life and bring other along for the ride. The trip is always more enjoyable with company.

Thanks for sharing Katie!

Best Regards,

Very interesting, Katie. When we search for things outside ourselves, we are really searching to fulfill something within ourselves. It makes sense then, to cultivate that thing we want for ourselves within ourselves first. This is an example of a self-fulfilling prophecy, and follows the concept that you reap what you sow.
