How To Add A Picture (Gravatar) To Your Blog Comments

If a picture is worth a thousand words… Why not always make sure you leave your beautiful face on every blog comment you make?

Leaving comments on other people’s blogs is a great way to get more industry wide exposure and to become more ‘recognizable’ in the community.  You can also drive quite a bit of traffic back to your site if you leave intelligent and thoughtful comments on highly trafficked blogs…

But if you don’t include your picture next to your comment, you probably won’t be recognized very much at all.  If you want to make the MOST out of your blog comments and become more well-known in the blog communities, you’ve gotta include your picture. It’ll help people identify you more easily and recognize you throughout the different blog sites you visit.

It’s very simple and easy to do… Just click ‘Play’ on the video below and I’ll walk you through the process:

So, right now… Head over to http://www.gravatar.com and sign up for a free account.  Once you do, leave me a comment down below and let me know what a difference it made!  I’d love to see as many bright shining faces in the comment box as possible!

;-)

If you already have a gravatar, I’d still love to hear from you!  Do you want to see more training tutorials like this?  What kinds of things would you like to learn more about?

And please make sure you share this with your friends on Twitter, Facebook, and other social communities!  Use the Twitter icon down below to ‘tweet’ this training out to your followers! They’ll definitely appreciate it!  Thanks a bunch…

To Your Continued Success,

Very helpful post Katie. I agree with others above, in this day of automatons and spambots its even more important to use a gravatar to get your mug out there. It is particularly key if you want to be taken seriously in a discussion, especially if you are taking a contradictory stance. It’s too easy to hide behind the pseudo-anonymity of the internet and snipe. If you want to be constructive, stand behind your words.

Cheers!

For some reason it doesn’t look like my comments are getting posted properly.

Well I’ll give it a try.
This training is amazing, I believe this is an incredible resource, videos and pictures are the closest we have to be in person on the internet, and this is an excellent option. Thanks for the tip, Carina

Great tip, Katie. I wish more people would use Gravatars. Its great to begin to recognize people as I read various blogs (and as they read mine). Let’s me know who I might have things in common with and starts the process of building friendships. Such a simple thing, too.

Masterful yet simple Katie..

Impressing your presence on the net with the addition of a photo of yourself definitely increases your chances of people wanting to know more about you.

Time and time again, a pic of a real person and quality comments will get me to investigate them further. I.e. click on their link to their blog or website and invariably adding to their site traffic.

However, for me a REAL pic has greater value than some image or logo. Twitter is prolific for non-relationship building images/logos.

Thanks Katie for the helpful information!

You’re so right in that a gravatar is so important (and easy) for making your messages more memorable! Regardless of what message you want to give people or what your passions are that you’re sharing with others, people do relate with a face much better than a generic image or a faceless character.

Thanks! (Hopefully my Gravatar shows up & I did things right :) )
