How To Add A Picture (Gravatar) To Your Blog Comments

If a picture is worth a thousand words… Why not always make sure you leave your beautiful face on every blog comment you make?

Leaving comments on other people’s blogs is a great way to get more industry wide exposure and to become more ‘recognizable’ in the community.  You can also drive quite a bit of traffic back to your site if you leave intelligent and thoughtful comments on highly trafficked blogs…

But if you don’t include your picture next to your comment, you probably won’t be recognized very much at all.  If you want to make the MOST out of your blog comments and become more well-known in the blog communities, you’ve gotta include your picture. It’ll help people identify you more easily and recognize you throughout the different blog sites you visit.

It’s very simple and easy to do… Just click ‘Play’ on the video below and I’ll walk you through the process:

So, right now… Head over to http://www.gravatar.com and sign up for a free account.  Once you do, leave me a comment down below and let me know what a difference it made!  I’d love to see as many bright shining faces in the comment box as possible!

;-)

If you already have a gravatar, I’d still love to hear from you!  Do you want to see more training tutorials like this?  What kinds of things would you like to learn more about?

And please make sure you share this with your friends on Twitter, Facebook, and other social communities!  Use the Twitter icon down below to ‘tweet’ this training out to your followers! They’ll definitely appreciate it!  Thanks a bunch…

To Your Continued Success,

Hey Katie,

it’s simple and easy, but I’m amazed at how many people still don’t have their Gravatar showing, especially with all the comments they make.

Thanks for showing them how to do it right, and why they will definitely benefit from activating theirs today!

Thanks

called your FACE, is what you

Hi Katie,
I would like to learn more about links, back links, any kind of links. Can you please have a video on how to do them so I can learn how to connect them to other blogs to drive more traffic to my website. I also want to know what a link is and what one looks like. I’ve yet to see someone do a video on this subject.
I thank you for your time and cooperation.

Hey Katie,

I have to say that what I like about you is that you always teach stuff that for a lot of “gurus” out there doesn’t seem important but it is and you show us how to do it.
What you teach us it’s in resonance with this quote that I love:
“Do not overlook the details, because they depend on the perfection and perfection is not a detail.”

Have a wonderful day Katie!

Katie –

Adding an avatar pic is a MUST! Adding your face or brand to your name and comments does wonders for your credibility and your ability to elicit valuable responses – it shows that you are a real person with real opinions and questions. And this is coming from the guy who looks like he’s yelling angrily in his gravatar :)

Hello Katie,
Thanks for the nudge. I just set mine up. Let’s see if this works.

The one concern I had here is if someone knows my email address they could use it and the comment would appear to be from me.

I suppose I’m not quite famous enough to have to worry about people trying to hijack my gravatar image just yet :)

Katie, I signed up for a gravatar about two weeks ago and I totally agree with you on this. Just like Nike has the check mark logo, Target has the red circle logo, we have our picture. Our picture becomes our logo that will over time be recognized world wide. We as a person become known by our gravatar over time through internet exposure even if our name is not present. Thanks for making the great video to show everyone how this is done. I have even had comments on my gravatar picture.

Hey Katie,

Thanks for once again sharing yet another way to enhance what we do online. Hopefully my Gravatar photo appears to the left.

While following your directions, I discovered that Gravatar photos can also be uploaded, updated, and linked to multiple e-mail addresses at Wordpress.com. For people who have an account there (like I do for an API key), it may be simpler to just go to Wordpress rather than setting up a new account with Gravatar – especially since the two companies share their info.

So, now I’ve learned something else to share. Gravatars only recognize lower case letters in e-mail addresses. I’ll send this from another e-mail address to see if the same Avatar will appear.
