Freedom for me is the total detachment from expectations and the ability to appreciate all aspects of life in any situation…

Hi Katie, to me freedom means being able to not miss a baseball practice or any games my kids may have. It means never having to get up at 4 am because I have to now I get up at 4am if I want to. It means never wearing a hard hat on a construction site ever again..

Freedom means freedom from the fear of ever getting laid off.

+Baker July 8, 2009 at 4:19 pm

Great post. Freedom to me means doing what I enjoy doing for the sake of the enjoyment and not doing things I feel I “have to.” Also I agree with Hans, being detached from heavy expectations brings more freedom in the present moment. On a smaller scale I enjoy the freedom to write what I want on this comment page, and not worrying about being politically correct or not.

Hey Katie..

Wow..amazing video ..

For me true freedom is the ability to do whatever and whenever…

For example I bought a sony playstation 3 4 days ago and since last 48 hours i am playing it almost non – stop without worrying for money as my network is huge enough now..to take care of that..

That for me is true freedom…Having the time and money to do things which I like..Like playing video games..HA HA

Thank you for this blogmovie, katie.

Freedom, what is your cage?
Sounds like it was the emotional in your innerself.

I have a different kind of cage. More in the way of having a voice in the world. Micheal Jackson had tried his best, but their are alot of people misunderstanding his message. I am sure i am also one of them.

I want to have power and rest in my body. I want to feel everything, not only my innerself.

The ultimute freedom is to be a person in the world.

Curt July 8, 2009 at 4:54 pm

Freedom is the ability to really truly express yourself. We enjoy freedom in our country because people before us have given up lives to give us the freedom.
The FREEDOM that I really enjoy is the freedom to work with whom I want, when I want and IF I want. I work with a MLM company that allows me to be with my children, family and friends. I did not choose this occupation as much as it was given to me after a serious motorcycle wreck left me in a wheelchair for a long period of time and the inability to practice my occupation as a chiropractor.
Freedom should be your choice to be able to enjoy life. Most of us work the 40 hour week, 40 years of our lives only to retire on 40% of what we lived on before. I suggest most people pursue a FREEDOM with network marketing.

Hi Katie –

Great post..

My idea of freedom is living my life within relative safety and security. Boundaries and lines that are not to be crossed. Sounds like being in prison! Not at all. I love freedom from others that may not see things as I do.

Cosmic Freedom Qigong is a transcedental form of meditiation that clears the meridians and removes negative qi.

My Qigong Master does not advise using CFQ http://www.cfqqigong.com/ because of the dangers associated with transcedental meditation.

To me, TRUE FREEDOM comes from God. The 10 commandments or the 10 Shaolin Laws set us FREE. FREE from harm and are designed to protect us.

The truth will set you FREE. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God.

Only God is truly FREE!

Great message Katie.

Freedom to me is possibilities. That’s any possibilities that I chose. There are so many people today that have no freedoms in their life but, I also think freedom is a choice for most people.

Freedom doesn’t come cheap, it didn’t for the fore-fathers in the US and it is not easy for anyone in network marketing.

Freedom is a beautiful thing.

Money doesn’t equal freedom.
Time doesn’t equal freedom.

Freedom comes from within.

We must learn to “BE” in a place of abundance and freedom will be ours no matter what the material surrounding that are around us.

Just my two cents…

You have a choice so, make it a better than terrific day!

Dave July 8, 2009 at 5:38 pm

Hi Katie,

To me freedom is the ability to direct one’s self.
In other words, to choose which actions to take, and
then take action! Even if it’s just directing your

If you can do that, you can overcome any obstacle
you face. Without self-direction, you’re a victim
of circumstances, with no way to affect your outcomes.

With self-direction, the attainment of any goal you
choose to reach is inevitable. It’s just a matter of
time and effort.

I posted this on Facebook on the 4th

I just watched Ingrid Elfver on facebook and at http://www.mymuse.info/. She shared a very important lesson about CREATING YOUR DAY and starting each day with a focused mind. I AM NOT AN AFFILIATE I AM NOT “PIMPING” HER PROGRAM. But her message is incredibly important.
You not only create your day!! YOU create your whole life. EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE, you have either put there or chosen to accept as it presented itself.
Ingrid’s message is simply that you can change anything in your life that you want to. You can hang onto anything that you want to. And whether you are aware of it or not, if you not making a conscious decision for growth each and every day, you are choosing “hanging on”. On facebook and in the world of MLM, we are blessed to have extraordinary teachers and guides. Katie Frieling, John Lowery, Eric Worre, Jonathon Budd, Mike Hobbs, Tatyana Gann, Mike Dillard, Bill Strauss, Sue’n’Steve. I am sure you have your favorite. I subscribe to everyone of their facebook groups. And learn from each of them every day All of them have tons inspiring materials that is given freely and daily.
One of the tag lines I use on my phone lines closes with “Have a spectacular day. Make it that way”. Ingrid is right on when she talks about starting your day. Every guru on the net is talking about MINDSET. Simply put, it means “with what attitude are you approaching this day. What resources have you chosen to put in play?” Don’t kid yourself; not choosing is its own choice. . My day starts with Tony Robbins Hour of Power, the “I create my day” declaration by Dr Joe Dispenza in What the Bleep and a remarkable contemporary adaption of Psalm 27 by Debbie Pearlman. *** Tony is my primary guide, but he may not be yours. Nor does he need to be. Again on our facebook community we have guides for growth, self-discovery and self actualization who are legendary, Denis Waitley, Wayne Dyer, Jim Rohn ( Tony’s teacher) and others who are not as well known but share lessons every bit as valuable. Denise Barone and Coach Dawn come to mind. (I AM NOT AN AFFILIATE OF ANY ONE I HAVE MENTIONED) Find them. Check out their stuff. Choose on two and follow them.

It is the 4th of July, for Americans a day on which we celebrate our personal political and societal freedoms. Tatyana and others have posted items that remind us that true freedom starts from within. CREATE YOUR FREEDOM! CHOOSE IN THIS MOMENT TO CREATE YOUR LIFE. AND CHOOSE RIGHT NOW A VEHICLE FOR STARTING YOUR DAY TOMORROW!
In her famous line the poet Mary Oliver asks “Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”
Have a spectacular day!! Make it that way.

I agree with everything you said Katie! Remembering and being your authentic self and feeling at peace, even in the midst of external turbulence, is freedom. In order to get to that point, it’s so important to detach from the restrictions of our minds and look at our lives from a more universal perspective. Spend time in nature and meditate on her beauty! Keep an open heart and mind as you embark on this journey of life! I think if you remember that your authentic self is pure love at the most basic level and that everyone else is pure love at the most basic level, it allows you to open your heart and have compassion for yourself and for every other living thing on this planet! Remembering that we all comes from the same source gives you even more freedom, because there’s nothing to fear! “We’re a family that should stand together as one”… this comes from a song in the movie “Romeo and Juliet” which is pretty powerful. Here’s the link!

Eric Solomon July 8, 2009 at 7:03 pm

Freedon is not having what you want or loving who you want. It is rather wanting what you have and loving who you have. It is the unfettered, unshackled and unhindered ability to go from where you are now to where you want to be, in every aspect of your life.

Ciprian Bud July 8, 2009 at 9:03 pm

Freedom…very good one Katie! You know how to pick a subject with a lot of interest.
So when I say freedom I’m thinking to that peace inside of me,to that happiness about who i am,what i do,who are the people that i’m connected with, what is the business that i’m running to that particular moment and other things related to my social life that drives me towards to my goals and make me see that “the door is unlocked”.

Have a great day!!!

David Latremouille July 8, 2009 at 9:39 pm

Hi Katie; I agree that true freedom is more than a materialistic consideration. It is both the freedom from fear, oppression, lack and all forms of negativity, while it is at the same time the freedom to be who and what you really are and to pursue the happiness that we all have a right to experience.
“Know the Truth, and the Truth will set you Free” as Jesus said so long ago is the essence of it in one simple phrase.
“True” Freedom then comes from Truth, the real truth that is , not conventional or manmade “truths”. Not political, social, or cultural “truths”, (which are really just glorified beliefs), but the Universal Truth. That is the basis of True Freedom.

Fathi Ridwan Basalamah July 9, 2009 at 1:53 am

There are obligations in our life that we have to do, i.e.:
1.We have to respect ourselves as well as others.
2.We have to follow the laws: locally, nationally and internationally.
3.To mentions is too many.
So, as long as we do not offend the laws and we respect everybody feelings, there should be Global Ethical Codes which everybody from all over the world should understand, respect and follow. By this means we are free of guilty acts!
Because we really do it from the bottom of our hearts and mind, we will have free of guilty feeling! FREEDOM!

Marko July 9, 2009 at 2:38 am

Clear perception of the world and the ability to do what you want when you want where you want with whom you want if you want, all without harming, and without the approval of self-appointed authority figures.

Jeff Brown July 9, 2009 at 8:48 pm

Freedom, to me, is freedom from suffering. As a human being, pain is a part of the reality of living; however, suffering is optional. I have freedom when I have the tools — and use them — to “enjoy” my pain… to experience the sweetness of mourning and acknowledging a loss or disappointment… rather than to dwell in the stuckness of resisting my experience.

Ethan Lanagan July 10, 2009 at 10:46 pm

Freedom is quite simply being able to do what you want, when you want, wherever you want, with whoever you want to surround yourself with.

And that to me is Unleashing The True Network Marketing Lifestyle which happens to be the title of my blog. haha.

Kate July 11, 2009 at 10:05 am

What does freedom mean to me?
Freedom is like a river that flows to where it will.
Freedom for me compares to love which simply exists to be.
Freedom can not be taken, established or solved by Dr. Phil.

Freedom is not static, it is changing times, a story in Dr Seuss.
Katie, I believe love cures all our ills as we drift in life’s turmoil sea,
but the greatest partner and companion true for our freedom is truth,
and it is truth that will set us free.

Quinn Coats July 12, 2009 at 5:59 pm

Another great post! To me, freedom is knowing that you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to. Whatever goals you want to reach in life, whether they’re financial goals, educational goals, relationship goals, etc….you KNOW that you can do them. Knowing this keeps you focused on the goals and keeps you free from whatever distractions may come along. To me this is a simple form of true freedom. Thanks Katie…:)

Randy Hendrickson July 12, 2009 at 10:41 pm

Freedom to me. I have felt the same way since the mid to late 60’s. We all should have the freedom to be who we are inside. Knowing we have that freedom, I believe the world would be a more peaceful place to live.

Jeremy Creager July 13, 2009 at 7:39 pm

“True Freedom”

7/9/09 camping in Yellowstone on my honeymoon with my beautiful wife.

Contemplating true freedom and what it means to me, is to say the meaning I give true freedom is what it is to me. This is important to the level of freedom I am able to create for myself. Understanding that freedom for me is my choice and I decide when, where, and how freedom is used in my life. This gives me freedom in and of itself. To be free of expectations and know that all my limitations are set by me: spiritually and karmically.

Freedom is both a goal for achievement and a divine birth right we all have within us always without having to do anything for it. Freedom to the degree that we love ourselves, the state of unconditional love is to be free. Non-acceptance of all things is non-freedom. To not have freedom is to have a sick mind, an unhealthy state ruled by the ego, out of the moment lost in ones thoughts. The key is to release, to let go and make peace with. To breathe in the moment, it starts with inner peace. Inner freedom creates outer freedom.

Picture – to flow without judgment like a big beautiful waterfall, heading passionately toward the cliff and then jumping off without any resistance soaring down with compassion, smashing the bottom floor free from shame and guilt loving unconditionally the observing of where it freely flows next.

The waterfall is not free in the sense that it goes where it wishes, as it flows where the rocks, mountains and landscape take it. There is no control in the matter of where it flows to, but free in where it flows from. Letting go of being attached to the outcome it is free from expectations thus no regrets of the past, not worried about the future and loving the present with amazement of the sheer beauty observing life as it is. Because where it comes from is a state in which every rock and bottom flow of river bed and every cliff it jumps of off it says “Thank You for Loving Me, I Love You Back”. That is true freedom to me.

All the best unconditionally free,
Jeremy Creager

Gil Pizano July 22, 2009 at 11:09 pm

Thanks for this great post Katie,

To me freedom means:

• Having the ability to ask questions, and not be afraid of any repercussions for asking it.
• Having the ability to suggest a solution without having to worry about any repercussions for suggesting it.
• Having the ability to make a decision that effects your life and allowing yourself accept the outcome of that decision (whether it be good or bad)
• Having the ability to allow yourself to choose how to handle the outcome of the decisions you’ve made.
• Having the ability to grant others the capability to make decisions for themselves, even when those decisions may directly affect you and your loved ones.
• Having the ability to show how we are inside and not be silenced or alienated or shut out for it.

These are just some of the many things that freedom means to me.

Thank you once again!

Hi Katie,

I cant help but see how so many people posted freedom as something inward and selfish. the “I want” or “do what I want when I want” type of freedom. I view that as slavery to feeling and slavery to circumstances. We cannot try to live in an alternate world but we must live in the natural constraints of life and live free in that

So What is Freedom to me. Freedom for me came when I gave my life away. When I gave my life to building something that is making a difference in our world. Freedom to me I found when I left father mother sister and brother, left money and possessions and found hope for freedom in Christ. Freedom came when I began to understand how Christ viewed me and that how he views me transcends other peoples thoughts towards me and the worlds limitations. When God labels me as a champion and as the head and not the tail (even when i truly am not those things) that brings liberty and freedom. Understand that the creator of the world made you the way you are for a reason, destiny and purpose.

None of us want to live in chains or constraints or held back but what we must understand is that the only way we are held back is by ourselves, self chains us. We must look up and give our lives to freedom. Matthew 16:25 says
25For whoever is bent on saving his [temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting].

So is freedom being free in and of yourself or is freedom living your life FOR and under the Creator of FREEDOM?

much love,

Aloha Katie,
I know today is not the fourth of July…but everyday I wake up in my bed, I say “thank you.” I am thankful for the freedom of living in this country. Freedom to me, is not having to wake up or take shelter from bombs coming from above or out of nowhere. I take freedom in going about my daily activities without being harassed. It’s lifes simple pleasures here in the United States that keep me thankful and grounded in our “free” country.
Thank you for reminding us of this.

Awesome video Katie! Freedom to me means being able to live day to day able to do what I want, when I want with who I want. To spend it with my daughters without feeling like I am obligated to someone who does not deserve my time, to be able to travel and have experiences I never thought possible 5 years ago.

I also feel freedom is something inside we feel and need to find…. I am on my own personal journey to this, finding, facing and letting go of fears, past experiences, circumstances, etc. that I have held onto and am finally feeling FREE for the first time in my life and on my journey to achieving this true moment! Almost everyone that earnsan income on the internet (even the millionaires) do so through affiliate marketing. Being successful in affiliate marketing involves knowing the formula that makes other affiliate marketers successful. For instance, autoblogging. Autoblogging has been one of the least well-known forms of making money for quite some time… basically because it’s quite difficult to make a good auto-blog. Yet, when done right, it can provide you with a lifetime of passive income with the only real work required being the setting up process. Video Marketing, and several other marketing strategies are all designed to drive traffic to your site, can be incorporated steadily in order to raise the position your site appears in the SERPs when someone searches for a term related to your site. And yet, even this can be totally automated.
