Why Attending Networking Events Can Make You Millions
Yes, it's true... The people you surround yourself with can play a major role in your ability to create success. Do you choose to circle yourself with people who are successful, inspiring, motivating, and really making things happen? If not, it's definitely time to start...
Making the investment with your time, money, and energy to attend networking/marketing events can prove to have the largest ROI (return on investment) in the long term... Surrounding yourself with people who are movers and shakers, your peers, and those who are MORE successful than you will uplift you and take you to higher levels in your personal growth, mindset, and success. And of course, not to mention the cutting-edge marketing knowledge that you'll be soaking up.
To say that the relationships you can cultivate at these events can make you millions over the course of your career is actually an understatement. One conversation with the 'right' person can spark an idea or a strategy that takes your business from $5,000 a month to $50,000 practically overnight... One joint venture, or partnership, can put an extra 10,000 people on your email list... A relationship you build today could turn out to be a lifelong friendship or business partnership for the next 10 years... The money is actually just a side effect. The real value is in the connection and the brilliance that can be shared among like minds. Being around other successful people helps you to become more successful, simply through inspiration and the sharing of ideas.
The point is... Attending networking events are truly priceless. And they are NECESSARY if you're really serious about creating success in this industry.
I just returned from Sedona (Arizona), Maui, and Washington D.C. for 3 separate events and I have to say... The connections and relationships that were established and the knowledge absorbed will be worth 1000x more than any amount of money I paid to get there... And I'm making friendships that will last a lifetime.
Watch the video clip down below to hear more about the importance of attending events and how you can really master the art of networking:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp4J294mFL4
It's all about relationships... Although it's true you can make a ton of money by investing in attending events, the value is worth so much more than money. It's all about building your own tribe, your own inner circle of friendships. And the beauty of connecting with people who are aligned with your purpose and your mission is truly amazing.
I was truly blown away to meet so many amazing and beautiful people with similar visions. And I'm so grateful for the opportunity to build like-minded friendships that I know will last a long, long time. Attending events will help you grow, enliven you, motivate you, and inspire you in so many ways.
Haha... You know it's funny that at the end of the video I say I'm taking a month off from events... When I actually forgot about 2 events coming up that I will be attending out here in California. I guess there are more people I'm meant to connect with and network in the next couple weeks!
So tell me... What events have you gone to that have been a game-changer for you? Do you have any networking strategies you'd like to share with us? And if you've never been to one, do you have any comments or questions? Always love your feedback!
And do me a favor... Share this post with your friends on Twitter and Facebook if you felt it was valuable for you today!
;-)
Enjoy your day and I hope to see you at an upcoming event very soon!
To Your Unstoppable Success,

Be the first to like.

I love live events! I’m always attending

Hi Katie! Yes, this is so true! I am known as the Queen of Events. It’s amazing how great they make you feel and how much knowledge you scoop up while you’re there.
I would love to follow your plan of everything you did, sounds like a blast and I’m sure you are a much greater person for them.
You said it right when talking about being an Internet Marketer and not only being behind the computer. Personal interaction is so important.
Thanks for sharing. Will definitely pass this on!

Hi Katie:
Thanks so much for the video! Although
networking events take more time they
are definitely worth it in time and investment.
I personally love going to personal
development events and arts related events
like film festivals in addition to marketing
events. The people I have met have been so
inspiring and something key that I’ve done
is I make sure I treat everyone with the
same level of respect and attention no matter
the level. Like you when the intention is to
truly connect from the heart space everything
else falls into place.
I look forward to meetin you in person soon!
Have a beautiful day!!!!

Hey Katie!
Loved your post today and would LOVE to meet you! Your networking tips were great… focusing on what you can give and not going into a networking event with expectations are so important!
Will you please let us know which events you will be attending throughout the year so we (I) can try to make it to one? I’m on the east coast so please let me know anytime you plan to travel this way!

Hi Katie, yes your message is so correct, people who have had success and who are looking for more will always welcome others into there network. But you need to be there to meet these people. They are not sitting around waiting for you to call. but they will help. If we get off our butts and make the effort. OK it costs money but you only get out of meetings like this what you put in. And its worth the effort and time as well as the investment to meet others who can be a great influence in out journey to success. Hoping to meet you some day cheers John

Hi Katie
Last week Thursday I was privileged to eat out with Tom “Big Al” Schrieter. Tom is a mulit-millionaire Network Marketer that could be anybody’s next door neighbor. He’s such a simple man but his mind is that of a millionaire! Tom has built two organizations one with 100,000. + and the other 300,000. + WOW he know owns his own MLM company.
After talking with him and getting out of the office and in front of people was refreshing and wonderful. I truly believe in the warm market (face to face) most of us Internet marketers tend to stow away when we shouldn’t.
One thing I learned from a network marketers millionaire mind is, it doesn’t matter how much personal development you have if you don’t have the tools (knowledge, training) in place you will never be successful as a network marketer.
This is the year that I’m getting out of my office (take it with me, laptop) with the tools and training that I’ve been blessed with and putting it all to practice!

This is some good content. All of the top internet marketers pretty much know each other and they all have business contacts that helps them get things done. But we have to also remember that we have to be worthy of the relationships that we wanna build. We have to bring high quality and a lot of hard work to the table.

I posted a little blog on JB the 7 figure networker titled Great on the internet but Greater in person. Katie,
You are so right on with going to live events. The transformations and connections are life changing If you want them to be. It’s a powerful way to meet other like minded people in the industry and your niche.
I also love to share “take-aways” from these events. I’ve seen many people now flip cam each other and offer a video montage for everyone to use how they want.
I can’t wait to hear more about your new discoveries and partnerships.

Hi Kaite,
I love all the content you give and the way you express yourself to others, because you are really a giver and excited about that. That’s great!
I agree with you about attending to events and meet great people, but unfortunately for the people like me who are from overseas (spain) is very difficult. And to be honest the big guys or girls in this industry are in US. I wish some great marketers could do a great event for people who are far away like a great webinar, I don’t know… just thinking loud now… I’ve experienced how great is to meet nice and successful people even on facebook. And yes this relationships take you to the next level. For example, now I’m making and sharing videos, and my english is not very good!, never thought to make videos before, but some time ago I just started because of these new relationships I started to build. So I would love to be right now in US and meet you and all these great people who you told about in your video.
Well Katie, sorry for this long comment. Thanks again for your video. Take care.

Hey Katie,
I totally agree with you! Networking events are absolutely priceless and it’s going to eb a heck of a year of networking for me.
I just returned from an amazing week in Scottsdale after hanging out with Dr. Sugar and Ellie Drake. It was absolutely indescribable experience. However, it is just for women and a bit more intimate setting. I totally recommend it, I think every woman deserves to experience this. I always love hanging out with Ellie and it was such a blessing to get to know Dr. Sugar this past week. – http://twitpic.com/19dou7
I can definitely tell you that the relationships I built with the women there are going to be life long relationships.
Btw, where are you going next? I would love to meet you in person sooner rather than later.
Next I am going to Social Fresh here in Portland, OR at the end of the month. And then in the middle of April going to hang out in Las Vegas at Mark Hoverson’s event he did as a bonus to the product we launched together here at Marketing Merge.
Than I am definitely going to Brave Heart Rise in October in Beverly Hills and additional two extra days in a private seminar right after that.
Next spring I am going to a cruise with the Brave Heart Women community.
And so, I am looking to fill in the gaps.
So I am looking forward to your updates.

If I find any new ones you haven’t been to I will send them along. Thanks for all your kindness and the unpretentious way you fuse together business and your relationships. I will let you know how far along I am in this fun adventure and hope to see you also at one of these events. You are such a great person it’s nice being friends.

Awesome post Katie , I will never forget the first network i ever attended when i was 17 years old. It was an event in new york city my hometown, called “Get Motivated”. I met many people that have become life long inspirations, and have also introduced me to many ideas about business. It is also were i first heard of the concept of network marketing, and i was actually prospected there by someone who was networking.
My first network marketing conference was jaw dropping i saw 10,000 people all at the same place eager to learn and network, and i met even more like minded and wonderfull people there. If not for those experiences, i never would have had the successes i have had, nor would i have overcome the failures that were coming.
Get motivated and go to events.

Well said Katie! I have always enjoyed “working the room”. Also important is to ensure that you PROMPTLY follow up with those you meet. Collect business cards (and bring TONS yourself) and make notes on the back of them to follow up with them (“talked about xyz, bring up abc”). Also, it can be greatly beneficial if you’re going with more than one person or have someone there that knows you and your business well to have a strategy where you work together promoting each other’s businesses…you work that half, I’ll work this one and then we’ll get together and introduce each other to our top new peeps.
I’ve also found that sometimes it’s just not possible to “get to” some people except at events. I agree…you need to really step out of your comfort zone and make sure you’re awake/alert as you only get one first impression.
Great video and that’s quite a list of events you just attended…I definitely look forward to meeting you at an event in the future!

HI Katie,
I’m kinda late on this one but I just wanted to tell you personally that I CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU one day
Also I’m very new to Internet marketing less than 6 months so prior to that I just did 1-1 networking events. I attended Tony Robbins “YES GROUP” This is people that graduated from his course and they want to continue the friendship.
It was once a week.
I also attended locally here in my area whether it was Chamber of Commerce or meetups. On the year of 2009 I got burned out because I was going to so much of them. I narrowed down all the networking events that I go to also because of my main reason to be home with my son more.
I will tell you though of doing this almost 3 years consistently I have made the best of friends of wellknown people in my industry. I still do like the 1-1 so sometimes we go to lunch, a play, etc.. I can’t stress enough how important it is. But networking is just 1 thing you must implement a follow up system (like you mentioned) call someone once every 2 months or so if you want to cultivate the relationship.
The one I would recommend your community is Success Symposium whether your heavy hitter or just starting out–it’s a GREAT place to connect and shake hands with like-minded and like-hearted individuals. Let me know when your schedule is free. I can meet weekdays as well if that’s better for you.
Thank You for your time.

Also a Carl Jung quote: The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed. – if you react (talk & meet) with people, you’ll walk away changed.

Aloha Katie,
I absolutely love attending BIG events! Being in the industry of home business and multi-level marketing for six years, I have never missed an event..well maybe one. Events are designed strategically like you said to expand yourself, your growth, your vision, your income, and your relationships. People love being around people and when you’re in the people business, most times it’s what we need to thrive! Each and every event, I am always learning something new. I get stretched to an even more heigtened awareness. Information could be perceived the same, but it really isn’t. I always leave an event inspired to stay in the game. Those who don’t make the investment into themselves to attend an event, is a big mistake. It’s not only attending the event though, it’s taking the information and applying it with the 24-48 hour rule. Even if it’s just one gem or one connection or even just one nugget of information that you get, it is definitely worth the taking.
Great post!
Love you much Katie!
