Hi Katie,

Nice one Katie, Very inspiring and I do recognize the truth of what you are saying. My education was very left brain and I always felt “creativity” was for the other guys while maths and science skills were me.

Those false beliefs have blocked a lot of my self -expression over the years. It is great to hear your reminder of a more accurate portrayal of who we are as human beings.

Stilling the “inner critic” yes definitely the key but how ? Not so easy as there is no off switch for the mind, (what do you mean there is no off switch ! Surely I can switch myself off cant I ? Well now I come to think of it ……etc etc etc )

I get massive help and inspiration from Prem Rawats “Words of Peace” see http://www.wopg.org. You might like to check it out too, we all need all the help we can get when it comes to inner peace.

love and light to you and thanks again I like your style X

Hey Katie,

I hear what you are saying about the little critic that sits on your shoulder and nags at you but as you say the best way to overcome the little critic is just to take action and get the first draft out first then work with your little critic to fine tune your content before making it live.

I always enjoy your content Katie!

Fabulous video Katie;

I too am deeply involved in both marketing and creativity. In fact, up until now, I have had them somewhat separate, even to having two separate websites, one for each. http://espiritualteachings.com as well as the marketing site that I listed here as website. Thank you so much for giving us this information. I see the video is on Youtube. I will go there and copy it for my site.

I really think that in order to succeed in anything we do in life, we have to work on ourselves before. We have to acquire the most knowledge possible, and develop ourselves that the little critic on our shoulder just disappears :)

Best wishes,

Yes ! It Is….Think without Think….just follow our inner feeling…and let it go !…..
Thanks so much again Katie……..:-)

Thanks Katie for putting into words just how great we all really are and showing how easy it is to tap into our inner selves. I too, use these techniques and the ideas just begin to flow.

Meditation and EFT are both useful techniques that I use to find my uniqueness and individuality. You are so right, it’s in all of us, just sitting there waiting for us to ask for help from our subconscious.

It is a beautiful thing….when creativity emerges. The subconscious mind is soooo powerful and a gentle teacher. What can seem soooo difficult can just show up days later clear as day. Your soooo right!

safa alai January 15, 2011 at 5:47 pm

The key for me in this video is what you said about sitting down to center yourself and asking your subconscious for help. And then key key key is what you said about surrendering to your subconscious so it can flow through you. These are valuable insights. Thank you.

Rebecca Woodhead January 15, 2011 at 5:58 pm

This seems to be a really hot topic this month. Saw a great scientific vid about this earlier, and the characters of both sides of the brain. – http://bit.ly/rKtWE

I had the same experience as this woman – but for a different reason. I had a car accident as a child and it trashed my left brain. My right brain controls the show now. I used it to help restructure my left brain. I did it with pictures (had no medical help or speech therapy: I taught myself to read and write. It’s OK, though. I’m a member of the International High IQ Society now). I think quite a bit of the character of my right brain rubbed off on the bits of my left brain it was retraining. They get on swimmingly now. That spinning picture that is meant to show you which side of your brain is dominant… I just tell it which way to spin, and it does. It’s fun!

I noticed, growing up, that I was seeing things other people couldn’t see (the ‘big picture’ is really easy for me to see. I don’t understand why everyone else can’t predict cultural change so easily, for instance. They get bogged down in details.) Linear thinking makes no sense to me. I can do it, now, but it’s way too confining. It misses all the important stuff. Creative and lateral thinking is a doddle. I LOVE writing first drafts of novels. Don’t love the editing process. :)My dreams are very vivid too. They have music, and sub-plots.

By the way, I’m aware this comment isn’t Shakespearean in construction. Apologies for that. It’s not anything to do with the head injury though – it’s 2am in England and I’m knackered, that’s all. :)

Great post. Hope you don’t mind me sharing my story.

Hi Rebecca,

Thank you so much for sharing that link.
I love TED, but that has to be the best talk I’ve seen there so far. I have shared these same ideas for many years now, though I have never seen anyone express these concepts with such clarity and passion.
I’m going to check out your blog afterwards also.

Hi Katie,
Fantastic video!
“I” am an artist and for some years now have been practicing the channeling of this energy to create my work. It can be hard to let go, but when you do, the possabilities are endless. Something pure and original starts to emerge that can stand the test of time. There is so much more depth and meaning to be found here than anything created with our egos in the way…and it is so much easier too!
Thanks for the inspiration:)

Jim Yaghi is one of my biggest internet marketing mentors. He is very technical and would be considered very “left-brained”. But he especially emphasizes that most people don’t have the CREATIVITY it takes to differentiate themselves online.

James Oh January 16, 2011 at 1:19 am

As usual, your video talk is always rich in content and full of practicable ideas that not only encouraging but inspiring, which I have benefited lots.

No doubt there are always well received, as reflected above.

Nacie Carson January 16, 2011 at 4:58 pm

Hi Katie,

You’re so right – silencing that inner critic is the most essential thing we can all do to improve our creativity. Learning to turn that voice off and live in a mindset of “it’s all OK, it all has a purpose” will help you really reach your creative potential.

Thanks for the great info!

Ms. Harmony January 16, 2011 at 10:49 pm

Thank you for the encouragement to jump outside of our comfort zone and empowerment to find the creative~genius in our souls. There really can be many issues deep in our past that leave imprints in our actions daily, but it is when we become aware of the moments and confront the hold-up that we are able to overcome the fault and become greater than ever before.
I am excited to be a part of your network and to have the honor of learning from the top lady in the personal development world!(at least in my opinion(;-))

Very good post Katie.
We are currently living in the information age and we are being “over loaded” with it. And sometimes we really need just to close our eyes, breath, disconnect, relax and focus just on what we want. That really can help us focus, get more creative and become more effective.

Katie, Elegantly said as always.
Joe Vitale taught me a little trick a few years ago to quiet the chatter which really interrupts the creative process. He used an EFT phrasing and I use it before I do any public speaking or interviews to clear my mind.
I will make up a video and post it at my webpage in a couple of days. I’ll reference you and your blog post and title it “Unleashing Your Creative Genius”.
Love your work Katie

Hey Katie,
I’ve discovered slowly that my creative energies are at their peak at night-time and I’ve learnt to discipline myself to do non-creative or repetitive stuff in day-time and leaving the juicy, creative bits for last.
It works. But there is a limit as well, and your tips on recharging are quite handy

Thanks for sharing Katie, I practice Taoist energy cultivation and I find that putting my intention on the project at hand gives me the best results. when I can get into the correct vibration I can better tune into my source of creativity. Like you say it is absolutely amazing when you can tap into your inner potential.

I agree with the fact that we have creative geniuses in all of us. Although most don’t even know it. From all of the limiting beliefs that are built into our brains that are handcuffing most everyone. Thanks for the golden nuggets!!

Hi Katie, Great video, very inspirational one, I agree with you when you say that we need to let the flow go and move around. I have been feeling that recently with my writing in my own blog. I just don’t stop when I am writing I just let the content go outside and my fingers do the job, and then after a while I go back to the writing and I start doing the editing part, but like you said everything (the draft) is already there, so is much easier.
I have not asked consciously to my inner Bigger-Self to help me let me creativity genius came up when I am writing , but now that I have learned that technique from you, I am going to start applying it in everything that I do.
Thanks again
Julie Linares
