Spring is such a beautiful time of year… Flowers start blooming, nature comes to life again after the winter, and it symbolizes a time for new beginnings. Spring is a time to reflect on the old patterns and habits of the past and clear the way for a new intention… Out with the old, make room for the new.
Most people do a spring cleaning for their homes and offices during this time of year to clear out space and get their lives organized again. But since our bodies are the vehicle in which we experience this thing called life, it makes a lot of sense to clean out our sensory filters…
So I’ve decided to do a little spring cleaning myself! I’m doing a 14 day cleanse to clear out any build up of toxins and literally clean my body from the inside out. Not only is a cleanse great in the physical sense, but it’s also symbolic for helping us clear out old emotions, patterns, and habits that no longer serve us. My intention here is really to get more focus, clarity, and inner harmony within my body.
I’ve tried different types of cleanses before, but this time I’ve decided to try something new. I’m going to do a 2 week raw food cleanse with some natural herbs for detoxing. I’ve never really tried the whole raw food thing before, but it does make a lot of sense…
You see, when we cook food, we destroy all of the naturally occurring enzymes. Enzymes are small proteins that act as ‘catalysts’ or transformative agents in the body. They are intra-cellular communicators and are responsible for helping us break down old cooked food residues and stagnation.
In the physical sense, they are essential for overcoming digestive lethargy… But on a more holistic level, enzymes help us to overcome life’s ruts and setbacks. They have the ability to raise our level of consciousness.
There are many other reasons to choose a raw food diet and if I tried to cover all of them, you’d be here all day reading this post! The point is not to convince you that a raw food diet is better, but just to inform you of the reasons why I’m choosing to do a raw food cleanse.
Like I said, I’ve never done it before, so I really don’t know what to expect. I’ll keep you updated and let you know how it goes! Leave me a comment down below if you’ve ever tried a cleanse, detox, or a raw food diet and let me know what you’ve experienced! I’d love to get your feedback.

Hi Katie,
Firstly, I just want to say Good For You! You’re doing awesome!
I’ve been following you and checking out your websites for about a week and a half now. Thank you for all of your inspiring and empowering messages! You are a beautiful, shining light in this world.
I also had a question:
Where did you begin this website from? I’ve checked out Jonathan’s and Jenn Lawlor’s *name* websites, but I love your layout the most. (You have very nice taste).
If you could help me with that, that would be wonderful!
We’ll be in touch.
And I wish you the best with your cleanse! I’m planning on doing one very soon, too!
In Gratitude,
Kayla Schroeder

thank you katie for your amazing websites and knowledge that you’re sharing with us all! i’m so inspired, i bought a flip cam yesterday, but i’ve got to build up some confidence first!!
i just finished a 21 day detox through http://www.standardprocess.com and i feel amazing. fruits and vegies the first 10 days then you can add clean chicken and fish the next 11.
the interesting thing is unlike my last one…i’m not running out getting ben and jerry’s this time. it feels too good to feel good. and my partner who has put many toxins in for many years, feels absolutely amazing after his cleanse and he’s not hitting starbucks anymore. it is amazing the power we have to clean up our insides and start fresh again.
to health, joy and abundance. love, sue

Hi Katie,
i really like to have a feedback from you how your cleansing weeks have been for you (maybe you wrote something about it and i coudn´t found it)! I was lifing on raw food for some month(allready some years ago) and it was an amazing time. I start to show interest for cooked food some weeks before i found out to be pregnant and started to eat “normal”.
I liked to cleans my body trough fasting over some years and tried different styles of fasting. What i found out to do before fasting which worked for me the best is to conduct a Yogic cleansing, which is called “Shank Prakshalana”.
Therefore you prepare yourself with eating vegetables and fruits only for two days. Next day you drink 4-6 liters lightly salted water and in combination with some bodymovements you bring the water troughthe bowel. For many this sounds a bit grazy at first
but it´s so helpfull and claensing also on a energetical level. After that procedure i keep a special diet with Kicheri and Ghee to cleans more and to transport toxins out of the body!
So a Hapy Cleansing to all you out there and make sure you can enjoy your cleansings! Much Love,
Esther

Hi Katie
I was wondering if you completed your cleanse and whether you noticed any difference?
I have tried different cleanses in the past and really noticed that some worked better than others.

Yeah, that’s actually a pretty cool idea. Now we definitely need you to follow up with us and let us know how it went. As a nice side-effect, I’m sure one could lose weight, and I’m sure a lot of it. Wondering if that could be one of the reasons why it made you feel sluggish, you’re already thin.
But hey, if you ever post a follow up, let us know how exactly you went about it. Did you just buy 2 pounds of carrots and a cucumber and start munching away? Did you prepare salads? What were the herbal pills you were taking? See ya.

Hi Katie,
I do cleansing all the time….actually everday I drink a cleansing juice from my company (Isagenix) and every month I cleanse for a day..and twice a year I cleanse for 2 days straight. It is really amazing.
I also tried a raw food diet once. My goal was to do 30 days of raw. It was very hard, especially when you have a meat & potatoes kind of husband. I didn’t make it past day 6, but I will try it again.
How did yours go?

Jesus and Moses did a detox for 40 days where all they drank was water. It is the most powerful detox and it costs nothing to do. During a fast the digestive system takes a vacation.
Your heart is beating all the time without ever taking a break. There is nothing you can do about that. But your intestine is constantly contracting and relaxing without ever taking a break just like the heart. It is called peristalsis.
If you fast your body gets no waste from food so the intestine can stop this and just take a break. During this time it becomes better than it ever was. Then when you start eating again this intestine is not sluggish at all. It gets rid of waste quickly. Since some people might be afraid of not eating, my site has quotes from 19 different MDs about fasting.

After many years of fasting and raw food practice,
I highly recommend the master cleanse.
Great series by the way. I’m learning a lot and being inspired to pursue my brand on the internet.
Thanks Katie
